39 weeks

Today I am 39 weeks pregnant. I woke up this morning feeling nauseated and realized that I only have one tablet of zofran left. I decided to sleep off the morning sickness and save the tablet (I know...morning sickness STILL??). I hate the fact that I could have this baby as early as tonight or as late as 2 weeks from now (my induction date isn't until June 4th). Every time I have gone to my check ups the doctors have commented on how low my baby's head is and that I wouldn't go past my due date. The doctor stripped my membranes a couple days ago (ouch) and said there was a 70-75% chance that I would go into labor within the next three days. But so far I have felt so incredibly NORMAL. I guess this little one just isn't quite ready yet.

These last nine months have definitely not been easy. The sickness started early and trying to finish up my last year at school was a challenge when all I felt like doing was staying in bed all day. Zofran saved my life. And when Todd graduated in December and we thought life was going to get so much easier...we realized how wrong we were. Job interview after job interview...Todd was just not meant to get a job. We explored all our resources and spent countless hours job hunting, writing cover letters, updating resumes and talking to people in high places but it just was not meant to be. So Todd spent a lot of time being "underemployed" working a variety of part-time jobs. It has been a very stressful 5 months, especially with a baby on the way. I almost cried when Todd finally admitted to me that at the end of his final semester he had been praying to be humbled.

Yes, this pregnancy has been stressful. But as I look back on this experience I can't take for granted the lessons I have learned and all of the wonderful people that have blessed our lives. It has been amazing and humbling to see what people have done for us. We are so grateful. I hope that we can be more giving in the future.

And for some good news...Todd got a job as a Public and Analyst Relations Intern at Novell! He starts on Tuesday and we are both SO excited for the experience he is going to get there before we head off to grad school in Sydney, Australia next year. We finally feel like the pieces are coming together for us.

Now I think its time for me to go take a nice long walk...

Busy Busy

Wow! These last few weeks have sure been busy, fun, and exciting! Here are some pictures that can sum up what we have been up to lately:

Our last Sunday at the Singles Ward. Our ward met inside the testing center on the BYU campus. We were pretty sad to leave!

Graduation. Todd and I decided to go to commencement by ourselves. Our families came to the convocation the next day.

Me, my best friend Katherine, and her then fiance, Michael. Katherine and I met at the very beginning of our freshman year at BYU. It was so fun to be graduating at the same time!

Our convocation was held at 8 in the morning on Friday, April 23rd (my birthday)!! It was very early. We celebrated by going out to eat at Tucanos in SLC and we had cake and ice cream later that night. It was so fun to celebrate with our family. We love you guys!

The next day (Saturday) was Katherine's wedding! We love Michael and Katherine and they are going to be so happy together!

The girls at a family BBQ

Then on Monday we took Hauni out for a fun girls day. We ate lunch and got pedicures. We couldn't have timed it more perfectly because at about 4 in the morning the next day I got a call from Hauni saying that she was at the hospital and had already had her epidural...
Our last picture together when we were both pregnant! Remember that this was taken VERY early in the morning. Aaron, my mom, Meg, and I were all there to witness the birth of Emma Michele! It was a very special day.

Todd was so sweet with her! I can't wait to see him hold our own baby boy.

THEN the next Saturday my wonderful mother-in-law, sister, and mom threw me a beautiful baby shower. We sure got some cute stuff!

And lately I've got to spend a lot of time with Emma! It is making me anxious for my own baby to come though! I sure love this little girl! She is so good...she sleeps all the time. I hope our baby is as good!

And finally, me at 37 weeks (excuse the messy room). At my last doctor's appointment the doctor said I was dilated to a 1 and 90% effaced. The baby's head is really low too and the doctor doesn't think I will go past my due date...that means I am getting really close! Now I just have to clean, clean, clean and get my go bag ready. I'm sooo excited!!

Yay for May!

1 week ago-36 weeks

It is finally May. I can't believe it. I mean, I haven't been counting down the days or anything since I know that life is going to change dramatically once our baby boy comes and I have just enjoyed the time preparing and getting ready. Its just...so surreal that we are actually going to have a baby. Don't get me wrong...I'm excited and all...but the whole labor and delivery thing doesn't sound so appealing to me. It was comforting to see my sister Hauni deliver her beautiful baby girl with hardly a glitch. I pray that my delivery goes as smoothly!

I can't really imagine what life will be like not being pregnant anymore. I've already forgotten what its like to feel good when you wake up instead of wanting to puke. Or wanting to go out and eat. Or just having energy! This pregnancy has definitely had its stressful times but I am so grateful for the outcome that will soon be here. Am I 100% ready to be a mom? No way. But I am ready to learn and do my best!
