Home

As the time gets closer and closer to go back to the U.S. I'm realizing how much we really are going to miss this place. Of course we are so excited to be moving closer to family and to have all our stuff back again (I guess it is possible to live without a car, microwave, comfortable bed and bedding, and many other things for 9+ months) but I can't help but tear up whenever I think about leaving. I feel so glad to be home when I walk into our teeny tiny apartment. I feel at home when I look outside at our view of the bay. I am always so glad that our home is not so far away from a quiet little beach where Jett loves to play in the sand. I feel at home when we walk as a family to our secret little park down the hill and push Jett on the swing and he laughs and laughs and there is not a soul around and we can just be happy and watch the sunset over the bay. I feel at home when we walk into church and all the Chinese students adore my little Jett and want to take pictures with him and hold him. I feel at home when we walk into church and are surrounded by many good friends. I feel at home when we are just walking around town and bump into someone we know. I feel proud and blessed that this is my home when we take a ferry into Sydney harbour.

We have had the experience of a lifetime here. Even though it definitely has not been easy, I would not change a thing. In a couple weeks, Jett will have spent HALF of his life here. I'm sad he won't remember any of it but he will always have the pictures to prove it! Jett has been such a good sport through all of the moving around and traveling...I just hope we all can make it through these next few weeks and the long journey home. If you have any advice for traveling with a very active toddler on a LONG plane ride please let me know. I will need all the help I can get.

Now we just need to figure out where our next home will be?
